Sorry, the developer does not have a website. Here is an article that should help on creating a socket server in perl: http://www.devshed.com/c/a/Perl/Socket-Programming-in-PERL/

Hi chidester,

I'm new in Flex development, and thanks for pointing me to the right direction, however i have tried to look for the perl socket server you mentioned in the previous post, but no luck, would you be able to show me the developer's website?

Hi:

4-H is working on creating a website for ATV enthusiasts that includes a map similar to the one you've posted (http://www.txtracks.com/mt-bike-trails-map.cfm). Is this something you do professionally, if you were, in fact, the one who created it? We'd be interested in finding out more about how you put this all together and possibly having you create one for 4-H.

Thank you for your time.

Another developer here wrote the socket server in perl that sends pipe (|) delimited data at 1 second intervals. The flex app makes a connection to the socket server on a specified port. Whenever data is received it is added to an arrayCollection that is bound to various UI components. I used the darkroom skin and tweaked it a bit for the look (<a href="http://www.scalenine.com/themes/darkroom/darkroom.html" rel="nofollow">http://www.scalenine.com/themes/darkroom/darkroom.html</a>). The charts are all basic flex charts that have been tweaked some for the look we wanted. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the interest. However, this is an internal project for the company I work for and the code is not for sale at this time.

Sorry, the pricing configurator is currently not a supported commercial product. Hopefully I can get some time to develop it further in the future.

Thanks for the inquiry though,
Scott

I too stumbled across your blog when researching the x2400 - you can pick it up for less than $80 on B&H Video now! What quality did you record the video at? I see that you can record at 1.57Mb/s for 'Best' quality at 640x480 resolution and wondering if that produces good results. I was a little disappointed with the quality on the Youtube video you posted but you did state the original was better quality. Do you mind sending me some original footage (bek25_at_drexel_d0t_c0m) or putting it up on your blog (or on Megaupload or similar site)? As the above poster I would like to start recording some of my rides. Thanks,
Brett
